Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of collaborating with various esteemed donors and stakeholders, including British Council, ECHO, European Union, SIDA, Malala Fund, Irish Aid, Canadian Embassy, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Disaster Emergency Committee, UNICEF, UNDP, START network World Bank, Asian Development Bank, PDMA, NDMA, NDRMF, ADPC and other donor agencies.
Throughout my tenure, I have been at the forefront of leading humanitarian interventions for I/NGOs all over Pakistan. I have devised comprehensive 72-hour emergency response plans for the organizations, collaborating closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure its effective implementation. I have been instrumental in leading emergency response interventions, meticulously following the organizational response plans to swiftly reach vulnerable populations during crises such as COVID-19, heat waves, floods, earthquakes, and snowfalls through integrated approach covering thematic areas such as Protection, WASH, Food Security and Livelihood, Health, Shelter, CASH assistance, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management alongside other long-term developmental projects. My role involved preplanning resource mobilization, allocation, and implementation of emergency activities along with over-seeing the financial implications as per organizational and donor policies.
Through my professional journey, I've gained extensive expertise in report writing and proposal development. This experience enables me to effectively communicate project progress, outcomes, and impact to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and compelling manner. I excel in synthesizing complex data, analyzing key findings, and articulating cohesive narratives that resonate with donors and partners. My reports go beyond documentation, serving as valuable tools for strategic decision-making and accountability.
Leading Early Recovery & Rehabilitation initiatives across four provinces in Pakistan with a portfolio of around 15 million USD, I oversee a multifaceted array of responsibilities crucial to project success. This includes reviewing workplans and offering technical support as needed, ensuring optimal financial management through monthly BVA assessments, and maintaining seamless coordination among provincial teams, partners, and stakeholders. I actively engage in monitoring project implementation, analyzing situation reports, and representing our organization in various forums. Additionally, I play a pivotal role in strategic decision-making, presenting projects to senior management teams, and contributing to the formulation of response plans and project proposals. Moreover, I am entrusted with the critical task of compiling and delivering comprehensive reports for esteemed donor agencies such as SIDA, FCDO, Melinda & Gates Foundation, IRISH Embassy, EU, ECHO, and DEC, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards throughout the process. My role encapsulates strategic leadership, meticulous oversight, and effective communication to drive impactful outcomes in complex humanitarian contexts.
Throughout my tenure, I have been at the forefront of leading seasonal interventions for Muslim Aid (UK) such as the Feed the Fasting and Qurbani Programme, as well as providing winterization support in targeted districts annually. I have been instrumental in leading emergency response interventions, meticulously following the organizational response plan to swiftly reach vulnerable populations during crises such as COVID-19, heat waves, floods, earthquakes, and snowfall. This involved preplanning resource mobilization, allocation, and implementation of emergency activities. Furthermore, I have been proactive in leading emergency preparedness and response planning by establishing and capacitating an Emergency Response Team.
Emergency Response & Rehabilitation (PKR 850 million): In my capacity as program officer and humanitarian unit head, I have spearheaded several emergency responses across Pakistan, addressing critical needs in the wake of natural disasters and public health crises. Managing a substantial portfolio of around PKR 850 million, I led emergency response during the Pakistan Floods of 2022, Gwadar floods 2021, Herani Earthquake 2021, Sindh Floods 2020, Baluchistan droughts 2019, Mirpur Earthquake 2019 and COVID-19 through integrated programming including Cash assistance, WASH, Shelter, Health and FSL. These initiatives not only provided immediate assistance but also contributed to building resilience and fostering sustainable recovery in affected communities.
Development Projects (PKR 407 million): As the lead of multiple diverse projects, I have demonstrated my commitment to fostering sustainable development and resilience across various communities in Pakistan. Through the "Integrated Support for sustainable livelihoods and improved nutrition and WASH services" initiative, funded by MA-UK with a budget of PKR 60 million, I have orchestrated a comprehensive strategy, managing a dedicated team to ensure smooth execution while meticulously overseeing budget allocations. Similarly, in the "Building Resilience by Strengthening the Community through Inclusive Disaster Risk Management" project, backed by NDRMF with PKR 400 million, I have spearheaded efforts to enhance disaster preparedness and response capacities, forging partnerships with government bodies and facilitating extensive community training programs. In the realm of climate action, leading the "Youth Climate Change Initiative" supported by MA-UK with PKR 4.2 million, I've empowered young minds through collaborative platforms and practical initiatives, nurturing their potential to drive climate resilience within Pakistan. Additionally, in the "Drought Response Chahghi" endeavor, funded by PHPF with PKR 7.45 million, I've worked tirelessly to secure approvals and implement interventions aimed at safeguarding food security and building resilient communities in drought-affected regions. These multifaceted endeavors reflect my unwavering dedication to fostering sustainable livelihoods, disaster resilience, and climate action, ultimately contributing to the well-being and prosperity of communities across KPK, Gilgit Baltistan, and beyond.
In my capacity as a Senior Project Officer, I have spearheaded a diverse portfolio of initiatives funded by the World Bank, focusing on institutional assessments and capacity building within disaster management authorities and related departments across various provinces and regions of Pakistan. This includes leading institutional assessments of Provincial Disaster Management Authorities in Sindh, Punjab, and AJ&K, as well as capacity building programs for PDMA Baluchistan and the Land Use Plan Department in AJ&K. Additionally, I have played a pivotal role in community support projects such evaluations of multi-donor trust funds, and community trainings with the SUNGI Foundation. My responsibilities encompassed ensuring timely project execution, meticulous donor reporting, devising detailed implementation plans, and fostering effective coordination with PDMA's, NDMA, and the World Bank. Through these endeavors, I have contributed to enhancing disaster resilience, community empowerment, and sustainable development in Pakistan's vulnerable regions.
